TEACHER OF GEOGRAPHY
MPS, FULL TIME
We are seeking to appoint, from January 2021, a full-time dynamic teacher of Geography. The successful candidate will be teaching Geography to GCSE and A Level. An interest in teaching another humanities subject at GCSE/A Level would be an advantage. The appointed person will be fully involved in departmental development, target setting and evaluation of student progress and will possess the following attributes:
- An outstanding classroom practitioner
- Highly developed inter-personal skills
- High expectations for student achievement.
Applications from NQTs, experienced teachers or those returning to the profession will be welcome. We have a proven track record of support and development for all colleagues.
The department consists of four colleagues. We teach the AQA syllabus at both GCSE and A Level and are a very popular and expanding subject in the Academy. As a department we pride ourselves on excellent relations with students and other departments. We value learning outside the classroom and there are opportunities to run fieldwork trips across the Key Stages. We also run a very popular trip to Iceland.
We would be pleased to show prospective applicants around the Academy. Please contact Mrs Jo Mistry, HR Administrator to arrange a tour. Details of the post are on our website together with an application form. Please send your application to Mrs Mistry (firstname.lastname@example.org) and include a covering letter and CV.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment. All staff appointments are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
Closing date for applications: 9.00am, Wednesday 21 October 2020
Interviews to take place: Friday 23 October 2020
