Chiltern Hills Academy is part of the Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust (ODBST) and as such the governance of the Trust belongs to the main ODBST Members and Trustees. You can find details of the ODBST Members and Trustees by clicking this link.

Oxford Diocesan Bucks Schools Trust - Members and Trustees

At Chiltern Hills Academy, we have a Local Governing Board (LGB) which plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of our school. Made up of a committed team of volunteers, our governors bring a wealth of experience and expertise from different walks of life. What unites them is a shared belief in our values—honesty, compassion, and hope—and a deep commitment to helping every student thrive.

The Governing Board supports the school’s leadership, ensures accountability, and upholds the vision and Christian ethos of our Academy. Together, we work to create a safe, ambitious, and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to “Live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10).

ODBST Scheme of Delegation

We operate within the ODBST Scheme of delegation which details how accountability and decision-making works within the Trust and in each individual school.

A link to the scheme of delegation document can be found here.

 Our governors:

  • Agree the School’s ethos and aims.
  • Define the strategic direction of the School.
  • Plan for the future improvement of the School.
  • Set targets, objectives and monitor progress of the School.
  • Approve the annual budget.
  • Ensure the School’s resources are used as intended.

There are different categories of Governors; Foundation Governors, Co-opted Skills Governors, Parent Governors & Staff Governors.  Further information about individual governors can be found in our 'meet the governors' section.

If you think you might be interested in becoming a Governor, please contact Graham Hull, Chair of the Local Governing Body via the school office who will be able to give you more information.  As a new Governor you will undergo a period of training to help you understand your role on the Governing Body and there are regular development opportunities available from throughout the term of your Governance.

Please feel free to contact any of the Governors by emailing or telephoning the school office.

The Clerk to the Local Governing Body is Mr Ian Lowe who can be contacted by email: clerk@chacademy.co.uk.

A copy of the LGB meeting minutes can be made available by request from the clerk via email.
