School Meals

Catering - The Pantry

Chiltern Hills Academy is committed to following guidelines set out by the School Food Trust. This policy ensures that a healthy focus on food is maintained. We are happy to comply with these improved standards that are endorsed by the Government. It is applicable to ALL food and drinks served on CHA premises from Breakfast Club and break time snacks to lunches. To this end, we encourage packed lunches, snacks and drinks brought in to school to align with the same healthy balance. For up-to-date dietary information or the traffic-light labelling on food packaging and further recommendations, please visit the following sites:

Students can attend breakfast Club before school where a menu containing things such as wholegrain cereal, Shreddies, Rice Crispies, porridge, eggs, toast, cranberry juice, strawberry tea is on offer.

Students are able to purchase a tasty meal at lunchtime or a snack at breaktime from CHAMPS DINER. Usually a variety of hot meals, salads, sandwiches, rolls, baguettes and drinks is available every day.  Each week’s menu is created to provide a nutritionally balanced diet focusing on the essential food groups (e.g. fibre, carbohydrates, fruit/vegetables, meat/fish) for a healthy lifestyle.

PACKED LUNCH

Students who bring packed lunches to school should endeavour to make healthy choices and please note, All packed lunches should contain a sandwich or suitable alternative and fruit and should not include nuts, sweets or fizzy drinks.

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A 'NUT FREE' SCHOOL (THIS INCLUDES 'NUT BASED' SPREADS).  FOR THE SAFETY AND COMFORT OF INDIVIDUALS, WE DO INSIST THAT ABSOLUTELY NO NUTS COME IN TO SCHOOL.
