Incident

Incident Today, 4 June 2025 (from Home page, please click to read letter)

Dear Parents and Carers,
At 15.05 today I was advised by the police to put the school into lockdown. This was because of an incident that took place outside of the school on Chartridge Lane. On their arrival, the police informed me that we could not release students until they had dealt with the situation.  The police isolated this incident using a secure room in the reception area of the school. Consequently, we ensured all students were safe in their classrooms immediately following our lockdown procedure. I can inform you that at no point were students or staff in immediate danger, and the lockdown was conducted out of caution in accordance with our established safety procedures.

I understand that this was a worrying time for all members of our community. However, we took the necessary steps to ensure everyone in the school was safe. At 15.45 the police informed me that I could end the lockdown and allow students to leave the school site.

Moving forwards, we will ensure that all students, staff and parents are offered the support they might need following this incident. We understand that incidents like this can be concerning. Please be assured that the safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority. We regularly review and update our emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for learning.

Despite this difficult situation, my thanks go out to the staff, students and parents at Chiltern Hills Academy for their understanding and support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss anything related to this situation.

Once again, thank you for all your support.
Yours sincerely
Mr Dobbs
