I am delighted to welcome you to our school website.
The Academy is founded on Christian values and principles through an ethos that promotes personal responsibility, self-respect, a valuing of the beliefs and views of others, self-confidence and a commitment to success and achievement.
"Be who God meant you to be and you will set the World on Fire"
St Catherine of Siena
We are a Church of England Academy that has children at the heart of everything we do. Our smart, well behaved students are happy and proud of their school. We are a high achieving school with children who are well prepared for their next steps in life.
We provide exciting and challenging teaching which encourages students to want to learn and to be independent learners; young people who can think for themselves, express themselves easily and function in a wide variety of environments. In order to do this we have created a positive ethos which is focused on raising the students' self-esteem through reward and recognition. The more successful you feel, the more successful you will be. We have a strong team of excellent teachers and support staff all with the common aim of developing every student to achieve or surpass their potential.
We are different, and what sets us apart is that we are the only Church of England Secondary School/Academy in this area of Buckinghamshire. Parents select Chiltern Hills Academy because we insist upon high standards and firm boundaries, all underpinned by our Christian foundation. Embedded within the school are the values of honesty, respect, compassion, love, forgiveness, self-discipline and hope. We expect all in our community to accept these as a foundation for their work. We have high expectations of our students and encourage our young people to also have high expectations of themselves and others.
Our varied curriculum is broad and balanced, with art, dance, drama, music, food technology and product design all featuring in our curriculum as we recognise the value of developing the whole child experience. Beyond this there is a rich mix of extra-curricular opportunities with designated support for homework and extra study available each day.
We recognise that to provide world-class education we are going to have to continue to innovate. Our Enrichment programme and our programmes to support Literacy and Numeracy are unique to Chiltern Hills Academy and they have shown a significant impact over the last years.
We have a central place in the local community. We have very strong links with primary schools, and we work with business and industry to enhance the relevance of the school curriculum. We are keen to work in partnership with companies, to enhance the part we play in the education and life of the whole community.
We are proud of the stimulating, supportive and calm environment in the Academy, an environment which brings out the best in our students. We strongly encourage you to visit us, to meet the staff and students and to learn more about us.
Mr K Patrick
