At Chiltern Hills Academy, we believe a well-structured day helps every student to thrive. Our timetable balances learning, reflection, and wellbeing, ensuring that all young people can make the most of every opportunity.
In a typical week a student spends 32 hours and 55 minutes in school, including breaks but not after-school activities.
Students start arriving from around 8:00am and many remain on site at the end of the day for extra curricular clubs or practices.

We operate a two-week timetable, which gives students access to a broad and balanced curriculum. This means that lessons may fall at different times in alternate weeks. Students can check whether it is Week 1 or Week 2 in their Student Planner or on the school calendar.
This approach helps prepare students for future study and working life, encouraging self-discipline, organisation, and independence.

Homework is an important part of learning at CHA. It allows students to practise skills, deepen understanding, and develop independence.
We encourage students to:
Student Planners should be checked and signed weekly by a parent or carer, helping us to work together in supporting each child’s progress.

Learning doesn’t stop when lessons end. Students can take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities across sport, the arts, leadership, and service opportunities. These are shared each week in our school newsletter, which you can find on our website.
