At Chiltern Hills Academy, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of our students. Every child has the right to grow up safe from harm, and we are fully committed to providing a secure, nurturing environment where every young person can thrive academically, socially and spiritually.
Safeguarding is about ensuring every student feels safe, supported and able to thrive. This includes:
Safeguarding also covers attendance, behaviour, anti-bullying, online safety, health and wellbeing, first aid, school security, and local safeguarding concerns.

Explore the sections below to learn more about the safeguarding guidance, support systems and key information we provide to help keep every student safe, supported and well cared for.
We follow the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education (DfE 2024) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (DfE 2023). This means:
Our site is designed to be as safe and secure as possible, and we listen carefully to our students. Every concern raised is taken seriously.
We have a highly trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) team who can be contacted at any time if you are worried about a child.
All members of the Senior Leadership Team, Academic Year Leaders, and Year Leader Assistants are also safeguarding trained.
Safeguarding concerns can be raised by emailing safeguarding@chacademy.co.uk.
Our aim is always to work in partnership with parents and carers. There may, however, be rare occasions when we must involve social care or other agencies without parental knowledge, if we believe this is the best way to protect a child.
We encourage everyone – staff, visitors, parents, and students – to share concerns if they are worried about a young person. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
If you are working at or visiting Chiltern Hills Academy, you play a part in keeping students safe. Please:
We also ask visitors to remain alert to signs of radicalisation, bullying, or abuse, and to share any concerns straight away.
You can find full details of our approach to safeguarding in our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy on our Policies page.
At Chiltern Hills Academy, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Together we create a safe, supportive environment where every child can flourish.
