A School Where Every Child Belongs

At the heart of everything we do is a true sense of belonging. CHA is a place where every child is known, listened to and feels safe, valued and able to realise their potential.

A child that really belongs will want to come to school. They will embrace our seven Christian values of love, respect, self-discipline, compassion, hope, honesty and forgiveness because they see the relevance of these values in their lives and will want to be part of something that is special. As a result of this, a child who feels they belong can thrive and achieve well in their lessons, will get involved in the vast array of extra-curricular activities on offer and will have goals and ambitions for their future lives that the school can nurture and support them to realise.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

Our students can achieve their potential in the many opportunities and educational initiatives that extend far beyond the classroom.

There is an array of trips for all year groups (over forty per year). There are leadership opportunities within the School Council, the House System and the Head Student Body in the Sixth Form. There are numerous extra-curricular clubs including sport, drama, music, dance, games clubs, debating and there is even a newspaper – The Kite, written and produced by our students.

Our annual CHA Culture Day is a true celebration of the multitude of cultures at the school. All these opportunities give our students a genuine sense of inclusion and a feeling that the school is theirs and a place that they can thrive on a daily basis.

Belonging Through Our House System

Every member of the Chiltern Hills Community belongs to one of our seven Houses.

Through this House system we have created seven smaller families within the Chiltern Hills Academy family. There is a sense of belonging, purpose and positive energy, bringing students of different ages together under a shared identity, which directly supports wellbeing, encourages teamwork and develops character.

A Community Built on Relationships

The true sense of belonging at Chiltern Hills Academy comes from the positive relationships that are continually fostered between all members of the community.

This sense of belonging extends to the staff within the school. It is important that every one of the 130 staff feel heard and valued. As a result of this our staff will thrive and want to provide the best all round education they can for the students at the school.
