Mental Health and Wellbeing

At CHA, your wellbeing matters just as much as your learning. Everyone has ups and downs — it’s normal to feel stressed, sad, or worried sometimes. What’s important is knowing where to find help and how to look after yourself.

Why Wellbeing is Important

Good wellbeing helps you to:

  • Feel more confident about yourself
  • Build strong friendships and relationships
  • Enjoy life and school more
  • Cope with stress, change, and challenges

Remember: it’s okay not to feel okay sometimes. Talking about it can really help.

How We Can Help at CHA

We have staff trained as Mental Health First Aiders who you can talk to if you’re worried, stressed, or struggling. They will:

  • Listen to you in a safe and supportive space
  • Help you think through what’s going on
  • Point you to extra support if you need it

You can ask to see them yourself, or your tutor, pastoral team, or even your parent/carer can help you get in touch.

Principal Insight

As a student at CHA remember that you are never alone. There is always someone at CHA who will listen and support you.

Here are some quick tips on helping your Wellbeing:

  • Take breaks — even 10 minutes can reset your mind.
  • Talk to friends, family, or staff you trust.
  • Stay active — a walk, sport, or dance can boost your mood.
  • Get enough sleep and try to keep a routine.
  • Limit screen time when you’re feeling stressed.

At CHA, we are committed to creating an environment where every student feels supported to “live life in all its fullness” — both in the classroom and beyond.
