Students, staff, parents and carers across the Chiltern Hills Academy community are celebrating today following a significant improvement in GCSE results for Year 11 students.
This year, 70% of students achieved grade 4 or above in English and science, with strong performances across a wide range of subjects. Notably impressive results have been seen in English, science, art, photography, business, computer science, performing arts, French, Spanish, history and PRE.
The results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience shown by students throughout the year, alongside the dedicated support provided by staff and the encouragement of parents and carers.
Overall GCSE outcomes have also improved, with students achieving higher grades across most subjects compared with 2025.
The progress made across both academic and vocational pathways demonstrates the strength of the Academy’s broad curriculum and its commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
Principal Mr Tim Dobbs praised the achievements of the Year 11 cohort:
“This year’s results are a testament to the hard work and determination of our Year 11 students, the tireless commitment of our staff, and the unwavering support of families. We are immensely proud of everything our students have achieved and of the progress they have made.”
As students look ahead to sixth form, college, apprenticeships and other pathways, they can do so with a strong foundation and renewed confidence in their ability to succeed.
Today’s results represent more than academic achievement. They reflect the resilience and maturity of our students and the strength of a school community working together to raise aspirations and create opportunities for success.

Chiltern Hills Academy is celebrating another successful year of Sixth Form results, with students achieving excellent outcomes across both A Level and BTEC qualifications.
This year, the Academy achieved a 96% A Level pass rate among Year 13 students. Additionally, 20% of students achieved A*-A grades in one or more subjects, while 67% gained A*-C grades in one or more subjects.
Vocational qualifications also saw impressive success, with 46% of BTEC grades awarded at Distinction or Distinction* level. Many students have secured places at their first-choice universities and will now progress to a range of higher education courses, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
Principal Tim Dobbs said:
“I am delighted and very proud of all of our Sixth Form students who received their A Level and BTEC Level 3 results today. We are delighted with their achievements and there have been some exceptional results.
Students and staff have worked incredibly hard over the past two years and we are really proud of our students’ results. I would like to thank all of the staff for going the extra mile with the students and the parents and carers for their continued support.
Our Year 13 students now leave us for the next exciting chapter in their lives and I wish all of them success as they commence their university courses, apprenticeships or employment, and we look forward to hearing of their future achievements.”
Students should be particularly proud of their achievements, having demonstrated resilience, determination and a strong commitment to learning throughout their post-16 studies. The Academy’s average A Level point score per entry was equivalent to a grade C, while students studying vocational qualifications achieved an average outcome of Distinction.
Chiltern Hills Academy prides itself on providing opportunities for all students who can benefit from continuing their education in Sixth Form, supporting them to achieve their personal ambitions and next steps.
Mrs Hemsworth, KS5 Leader, commented:
“These are a good set of results that we have achieved; through hard work and determination many students have exceeded their expectations. We wish them well for their future studies, work or gap year.”
The Sixth Form at Chiltern Hills Academy continues to grow, offering an expanding range of opportunities for students. The provision now includes more than 20 courses, encompassing both traditional A Levels and vocational qualifications, ensuring students can pursue pathways best suited to their aspirations and career goals.
